American Chemical Society Charleston Scholarship

The ACS Charleston Scholarship awards $1,500 to a library professional or para-professional currently working in a library.

Swets Charleston Conference Scholarship

The Swets Charleston Conference Scholarship awards $1,000 to a qualifying librarian or para-professional.

The 2008 winner of the Swets Charleston Conference Scholarship is Hana Levay of University of Washington Libraries. Hana's winning essay can be viewed here.

Rules for submitting a scholarship application are:
• Complete an essay of no more than 1,000 words detailing “out of the box”
thinking that you used to solve an electronic resource issue
• Must currently work as a librarian or para-professional
• Include a brief vita
• E-mail essay and vita to: swets-scholarships@us.swets.com
• Entries must be received by September 15, 2008
